Three named to All-UAA women's tennis team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Three members of the Brandeis University women's tennis team have earned spots on the 2026 University Athletic Association All-UAA teams. Junior Mandy Reyes of Manila, The Philippines, and senior Rebecca Suarez of New York, New York, were honored as a first-team All-UAA first doubles team, and Reyes earned second-team honors at first singles. Junior Chahana Budhbhatti of Ahmedabad, India, was an honorable mention selection at second singles.

Reyes and Suarez have been terrific at the top of the Brandeis lineup, posting a 17-4 overall record, including 14-2 in dual matches. They reached as high as a #7 ranking in Division III, and are currently ranked #13 overall and #2 in the Northeast Region. The pair are in line for a berth at the NCAA Division III Doubles Championships later this month. They went 2-0 at the UAA tournament and led the #21-ranked pairing from Chicago, 4-3, when the match was suspended. In nine of their 14 dual-match wins, the pair allowed their opponents to win three games or fewer. This is the fourth All-UAA doubles honor for Suarez, along with two singles honors. Reyes earns her first All-UAA doubles accolade.

Reyes also earned All-UAA singles honors for the first time. She went 7-4 at #1 singles in dual matches this season. Reyes dropped her first match at #1 against a Division I opponent, then won seven in a row. Including matches played at #2, she was 9-8 overall in dual matches and led the team with 14 wins when including tournaments. With 14 wins in singles and 22 in doubles, Reyes set a single-season record for combined wins for the Judges.

Budhbhatti went 10-10 overall this season, 8-8 in dual matches and 4-6 at #2 singles. Budhbhatti was tied for fourth on the team in overall wins. She played a marathon decisive match at the UAA tournament in the consolation semifinals, falling 7-5, 6-7 (5-7), 6-7 (6-8). This is her first All-UAA recognition.
