Announcing the Brandeis Hall of Fame Class of 2026

WALTHAM, Mass. -- A group of four former athletic greats and a successful long-time coach will be inducted into the Brandeis Athletics Joseph M. Linsey Hall of Fame next October 3rd at the Judges' annual Homecoming celebration.

The 2026 inductees are:
  • Long-time men's tennis coach Tom Foley, who guided the Judges for 31 years, from 1967 through 1998. Foley coached three Hall of Famers, three All-Americans, eight NCAA individual qualifiers, and led the 1989 Judges to a University Athletic Association championship and the first-ever NCAA Division III tournament berth for a men's tennis team from New England;
  • Three-sport standout Dave Walker '60, who starred for the football, basketball, and baseball teams. Walker is a member of two Brandeis Hall of Fame teams, the 1957 football and 1957-58 men's basketball teams. He was drafted by the Boston Red Sox and played two seasons in their farm system;
  • Men's Lacrosse player Elliot Schwartz '82, who was an All-New England selection and the single-season and all-time leading scorer for the Brandeis program that existed at the varsity level from 1970 through 1983;
  • Softball standout Theresa "Tricia" Gomes '97, a three-time All-University Athletic Association selection who helped the Judges win the first UAA crown in 1995 and remains the program's career leader in batting average and doubles and owns the two highest single-season batting averages, batting .560 as a sophomore and as a senior;
  • And Caitlin Malloy '03 of the women's cross country and track and field programs, a four-time All-American and 14-time All-University Athletic Association honoree whose school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase has stood for nearly 25 years.
