MEDFORD, Mass. – The Brandeis University track and field team continues its indoor season today at the Tufts Six-Way Invitational. The Judges won four events and had eight other top-three finishes at the non-scoring event.

EVENT WINNERS
  • Senior Alisha Anderson (Denver, Colo. / Ralston Valley) took the women's pole vault with a height of 3.46 meters (11-4 ¾), putting her just outside the top 50 in Division III. Anderson cleared her first attempt at 3.46 to break a tie with a vaulter from Tufts, who needed an extra attempt.
  • Classmate Garret Rieden (Littleton, Mass./Littleton) took the 600-meter run with a mark of 1:21.36, edging an Amherst runner by 0.21 seconds. In his first collegiate race at 600 meters, a distance that rarely run, Rieden set a school record.
  • Three different Judges were tied for first, along with a Tufts jumper, in the high jump with heights of 1.58 meters (5-2 ¼). First-year Ashley Korbul (Staten Island, N.Y. / New Dorp) won the event, as she did not miss an attempt at either of her two heights. Senior Aiana Colas (Strasbourg, France / Le Gymnase Jean Sturm) was third after a couple of misses in her series, while junior Sophie Segal (Hartsdale, N.Y. / Ardsley) was fourth after clearing 1.58 on her final attempt. The mark tied a p.r. for Korbul and Segal and marked a season-best for Colas.
  • Sophomore triple jump All-American Sarai Sealy (New York, N.Y./Ursuline School) won the long jump with a distance of 5.61 meters (18-5), a personal-best which is ranked 18th in Division III this season. She edged first-year Izzy Ross (Holliston, Mass./Holliston), who was second in 5.30 meters (17-4 ¾), also a p.r.
OTHER TOP THREE FINISHES
  • Graduate student Shae Regan (Littleton, Mass./Littleton) was second in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:04.74, ranking her 50th in Division III this season.

  • The Judges had two top-three finishers in the 200-meter dash. On the women's side, sophomore Peterly Leroy (Malden, Mass./Prospect Hill Academy Charter School) turned in a time of 26.09 seconds, finishing just seven-hundredths of a second behind a runner from Tufts.
  • On the men's side, first-year Max Eigen (Southboro, Mass. / Algonquin Regional) was third with a time of 22.84 seconds in his first race at that distance in college. He was five-hundredths out of second place and edged classmate JJ Fleming (Winchester, Mass. / Winchester) by another five-hundredths.
