Box Score HARTFORD, Conn. – The 36^th-ranked Brandeis University women's tennis team ran its winning streak to eight in a row - its longest in nearly four decades - with a 6-1 victory on the road over Trinity (Conn.) College today.

TEAM RECORDS

• Brandeis: 8-6, ranked #36 nationally in Division III by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association
• Trinity: 5-9.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Judges opened with a doubles sweep, dropping just two games over the three matches – 6-0, 6-1, and 6-1.
• In the first three singles matches, Brandeis won two in straight sets. Junior Chahana Budhbhatti (Ahmedabad, India/Aavishkar School) won a tight first set before rolling in the second to pick up a 6-4, 6-0 win at #2.
• Junior Nancy Zhang (Shanghai, China/Shanghai International Division) squeaked out a straight-set win, 6-4, 6-4, at #3 to give Brandeis a 3-0 lead.
• Despite taking the court with #1 singles still underway, senior Anastasia Sia (Thessaloniki, Greece/Anatolia College) needed just 34 minutes to earn the clinching win, 6-0, 6-2, at #4.
• In the lone three-set match of the day, Trinity's Ella Baker outlasted Judge senior Bhakti Parwani (Ahmedabad, India/Kumkum School) over two hours and 40 minutes, 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), 7-5.
• Brandeis first-year Charly Saltz (Natick, Mass./Learning Post Academy) and sophomore Mandy Reyes (Manila, Philippines/Laurel Springs School) finished off the team victory with wins of 6-3, 6-4, at #5 and 6-1, 6-0, at #6.
• The win was Brandeis's eighth in a row, their longest since winning nine-straight at the end of the 1985-86 season (6 wins) and the start of the 1986-87 campaign (3 wins).
• The Judges also won nine-straight between the 1984-85 (3 wins) and 1985-86 seasons (6 wins).
• Brandeis's longest single-season win streak over the last 45 years was 10 in a row at the start of the 1980-81 campaign.
