HOW IT HAPPENED

• For the second-straight match, Brandeis did not drop a set. They started by sweeping doubles, 6-4, 6-1, and 6-2.
• In singles action, the Judges rolled, never dropping more than six games in a match. Junior Rebecca Suarez (New York, N.Y./International Virtual Learning Academy) had a 6-0, 6-4, win at #1 to get things started, and senior Bhakti Parwani (Ahmedabad, India/Kumkum School) took a 6-4, 6-2, decision at #2.
• Sophomore Chahana Budhbhatti (Ahmedabad, India/Aavishkar School) won, 6-2, 6-3, at #3 and junior Nancy Zhang (Shanghai, China/Shanghai International Division) completed the first round of matches by winning with the same score.
• Senior Anastasia Sia (Thessaloniki, Greece/Anatolia College) and sophomore Mandy Reyes (Manila, Philippines/Laurel Springs School) rounded things out at #5 and #6, respectively, by winning 6-2, 6-4, and 6-4, 6-1.
• The Judges picked up their first win over a ranked opponent after dropping their first six attempts, including two 3-4 losses.

• The Judges will play twice at home next weekend, taking on Division II Franklin Pierce next Saturday and Nichols College on Sunday.
