PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Brandeis University track and field team had two top-three finishes today at the 2024 University Athletic Association outdoor championships held at Carnegie Mellon University. The women finished in sixth place with 47.5 points, while the men were seventh with 25 points.

ALL-ASSOCIATION PERFORMANCES
  • The first All-UAA finish of the day and the meet came from sophomore Shaniece Nugent (Hartford, Conn./Lawrence Academy) in the triple jump. Nugent's third attempt went for 11.47 meters (37-7 ¾) and launched her into second place, with only other opponent surpassing her in the final round. It was her first All-UAA performance in the event after scoring in her three previous conference meets.
  • The 4x100-meter relay team tied a school record set two years ago with a time of 49.12 seconds to finish in third place. The squad consisted of senior Smiley Huynh (Bronx, N.Y./Bronx HS of Science), senior Liz Korn (Piedmont, Calif./Piedmont), Nugent and senior Alya Campbell (Eastchester, N.Y,/Eastchester). Huynh and Campbell were both on the previous record-holding team.

  • Junior Hannah Bohbot-Dridi (Mountain View, Calif./Los Altos) added four points with a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter run, posting a time of 57.81 seconds. She was seeded sixth into the finals and lowered her prelim time by about six-tenths of a second.
