Waltham, Mass.- The #10/12 Brandeis University women's soccer team fell to the University of Chicago Maroons, 1-0, in a UAA matchup at Gordon Field.

 

The Maroons' goal came in the 43rd minute, when junior Sophia Kim received a pass from sophomore Mia Calamari in the top right of the box and placed it into the left netting for her second score of the season.

 

Chicago finished the contest with a 12-10 edge in shots, although the Judges put seven shots on goal to the Maroons' six. Senior Holly Szafran (Homewood, Ala./ Newton North) led the Judges with four attempts on target.

 

Judges junior goalkeeper Alexis Grossman (Syosset, N.Y./ Syosset) recorded five saves. Maroons rookie keeper Piper Mik had seven stops.

 

Records:

Brandeis is now 11-2-1, 1-2 UAA.

Chicago is now 9-4-1, 2-1 UAA.

The Judges are 8-14-5 all-time against the Maroons.
