BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Brandeis University sophomore Sarai Sealy of New York, New York, earned first-team All-America honors in the triple jump for the third time in her career, finishing a personal-best fourth in the nation at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at Crossplex in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Sealy, who finished fifth both indoors and outdoors last year, was the sixth seed entering the meet. Jumping 9th out of 10 in the second flight, Sealy fouled on her first attempt, but moved into eighth place on her second with a distance of 11.68 meters (38 feet, 4 inches). She improved to fifth with her final prelim jump at 11.98 meters (39-¾), securing her spot in the finals.

Sealy was unable to improve on her position with her first two attempts of the finals, setting up a dramatic sixth round. In that last round of jumps, seven of the nine competitors jumped better than 12 meters, with an eighth at 11.99. Jumping fifth, Sealy had fallen to eighth in the rankings before pulling off her best performance of the meet, reaching a season-best distance of 12.18 meters (39-11 ½) and securing her spot on the podium for the second time indoors and the third time overall.

Sealy's fourth-place finish was the highest by a Brandeis competitor at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships since 2019, when Emily Bryson '19 and the distance medley relay team took home two national championships. 

With the five points scored by Sealy at the meet, the Judges were in a tie for 36th place in the standings with 14 of 17 events scored.
