Box Score EAST BOSTON, Mass. – The Brandeis men's soccer team scored goals 10 minutes apart early in the second half today as the Judges defeated Suffolk University, 2-1, on the road in East Boston Memorial Park today.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In a scoreless first half, the Judges outshot the Rams, 5-4, while Judge senior Tyler Correnti (West Newbury, Mass./Pentucket Regional) made two saves.
- In the 48th minute, senior Elan Romo (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) broke the tie. He intercepted a Suffolk clearance attempt and lofted a ball over Ram keeper Ian Caldwell. It was Romo's first goal of the season and the sixth of his career.
- In the 58th minute, senior captain Nico Beninda (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township) netted what proved to be the game-winner, converting a pass from junior Maddox Yu (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield). Beninda went to the far side and put the ball just under the crossbar. It was his first goal of the season and the ninth of his career. It was Beninda's first game-winner since 2022.
- The insurance goal was key as Suffolk spoiled Correnti's shutout bid in the 77th minute, when Zach Vlachos scored on an assist from Christian Gardner.
- Correnti denied a tying goal on a Suffolk header in the 82nd minute to preserve the win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Judges finished with an 11-9 shooting edge, though the Rams had a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
- Correnti improved to 2-0 on the season with four saves. Suffolk's Caldwell had two stops.
- This was only the second-ever meeting between Brandeis and Suffolk, with the squads battling to a 0-0 draw last season.
