WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University indoor track and field teams will send three student-athletes to the 2025 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships, their largest contingent since 2019. The Championships will be held March 14-15 at the Golisano Training Center in Rochester, New York, hosted by Nazareth University.
Leading the way for the women's team is first-year
Sarai Sealy of
New York, New York, who will represent the Judges in the triple jump. Sealy's season-best distance of 12.23 meters (40 feet, 1 ½ inches) was achieved on March 1 at the University Athletic Association championships. Sealy won the UAA title with the leap and was named UAA Rookie of the Year for her efforts, which included running a leg on the fourth-place 4x400-meter relay. She is Brandeis's first triple jumper to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championships since 2009. Sealy is seeded sixth in the event, which will be held on March 15 at 11 a.m.
Joining Sealy on the women's side will be first-year
Peterly Leroy of
Malden, Massachusetts. Leroy, who is also a member of the Judges' women's soccer team, will be competing in the 400-meter run. She will be the 13
th seed in the race with a season-best and school-record time of 56.87 seconds, set at the Tufts Last Change Qualifier on March 8. Leroy was the runner-up in the 400-meter run at the UAA Championships. Leroy is Brandeis's first 400-meter qualifier since 2002. The women's 400-meter prelims will be held on March 14 at 3:25 p.m., with the finals on March 15 at 4:40 p.m.
On the men's side, junior
Garret Rieden of
Littleton, Massachusetts, will represent the Judges in the 800-meter run. Rieden, the UAA runner-up in the event, ran his best time of the season of 1:51.67 at the Tufts Last Chance Qualifier on March 8. Rieden is the Judges' second-straight NCAA qualifier in the 800-meter run, with classmate
TJ Carleo of
Newburyport, Massachusetts, finishing 18
th last year. Rieden's prelim in the 800-meter run is on March 14 at 3:45 p.m., while the finals will be contested on March 15 at 4:50 p.m.
In second-year coach
Miles Ketchum's second season, the Judges will be looking for their first scoring performances at the NCAA Championships since 2022 for the women and since 2018 for the men.
