ATLANTA, Ga. – The Brandeis University swimming and diving teams opened the 2025 University Athletic Association championships at Emory University with the 800-yard freestyle relays.
The women's team of senior
Chloe Gonzalez (Miami Beach, Fla./Miami Beach), senior
Anastasia Bekou (Limassol, Cyprus/Laniteio Lyceum), junior
Rebecca Kaplan (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary School) and junior
Jenna Wild (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) finished in eighth place with a time of 7:58;14, placing 10 seconds behind Rochester in seventh and about the same margin off the school record.
The men were represented by junior
Benjamin Lee (Upton, Mass./Nipmuc Regional), junior
Sam Bundy (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell), senior
Tal Spector (Phoenix, Ariz./Herberger Young Scholars Academy), and sophomore
Luke Abrahamson (Lincoln, R.I./Lincoln) in the A final. The Judges finished in eighth place with a time of 7:05.40. They were 17 seconds behind Rochester in seventh and 15 off the school record.
Both teams were in eighth place with 66 points after Day 1 of the UAA championships. The Judges return to action tomorrow at 10 a.m.
