Tyler Correnti of
West Newbury, Massachusetts, has been selected as the University Athletic Association Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 19.
Correnti helped the Judges earn a 2-1 road victory over the University of Rochester in UAA play on Oct. 18. He made three saves in goal, including two early in the second half after the Yellowjackets had taken a 1-0 lead. Brandeis scored two goals in a span of 16 seconds later in the half to earn their first conference victory of the season.
Correnti ranks fourth in the UAA with 32 totals saves and 2.67 saves per game this season. His .696 save percentage is fifth in the league and his 1.18 goals-against average is sixth.
With an 9-1-3 record, 1-1-1 in the UAA, the Judges are off to their best start since 2014. Their #6 ranking in the United Soccer Coaches Division III poll is their highest since 2017, when they went to the Final Four of the NCAA Tournament, and their highest during the season since 2015. The Judges return to action this weekend with a pair of home UAA contests, on Friday evening Oct. 24 at 5 p.m. against Case Western Reserve and Sunday morning, Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. against Carnegie Mellon when they will host Senior Day.
