#5 men battle to scoreless draw with CWRU

WALTHAM, Mass. – The #5-ranked Brandeis University men's soccer team battled to a hard-fought 0–0 stalemate against Case Western Reserve University in a tightly contested University Athletic Association match-up on Friday evening at Gordon Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Both teams had opportunities but could not find the back of the net
  • Brandeis fired 13 shots, including four on goal, while Case Western totaled 16 shots with five on goal.
  • The Judges' goalkeeper, senior Tyler Correnti (West Newbury, Mass./Pentucket Regional), made five saves, keeping the Spartans scoreless in the match.
  • The shutout was his fourth of the season and of his career. 
  • Brandeis controlled possession and registered four corner kicks compared to Case Western's six.
  • Junior forward Keller Chamovitz (Sewickly, Pa./Quaker Valley) led the offense for Brandeis with three shots, two of which were on goal.
  • Brandeis's best opportunity came in the 56th minute, when junior Aidan Chuang (New York, N.Y./Milton Acad., Mass.) hit the left post with a shot from distance, and CWRU goalkeeper Bradley Winter stopped Chamovitz's follow-up. 
  • Winter made five stops in net for the visitors.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
  • Brandeis extended its unbeaten streak to four games and continued its five-game undefeated streak at home this season.
  • This marks the first draw between the two teams since 2019, and only the sixth tie in their 38 all-time matchups, four of which have ended scoreless.

  • The Judges' next game will be at home on Gordon Field for Senior Day on Sunday, October 26 at 11 a.m., hosting Carnegie Mellon University in another UAA contest.
