WALTHAM, Mass. – Five members of the Brandeis University men's soccer team were honored by the University Athletic Association (UAA) with a spot on the 2023 All-UAA team today. Earning second-team honors were sophomore midfielder

Roee Maor of
Demarest, New Jersey and senior forward
Sancho Maroto Tobias of
Acton, Massachusetts. Junior goalkeeper
Quintin Wrabley of
Malvern, Pennsylvania, received honorable mention.
Osselmann-Chai, the 2022 UAA Rookie of the Year, lands on the All-UAA second team for the first time after earning honorable mention honors last year. One of two players to play in and start every game, He was the Judges' third-leading scorer in 2023 with three goals and an assist. Two of Osselmann-Chai's three goals came late in Association contests – he scored with 58 seconds left in regulation of a 2-1 win over Washington University on Oct. 7, and in the 84
th minute of a 3-3 draw with NYU, less than 90 seconds after the Violets had taken the lead.
Gonzalez earned All-UAA accolades for the first time. He was the Judges' top defensive player this season. He joined Osselmann-Chai as the only player on the Judges to play in all 17 contests, and was the only Judge to play every minute of every game. Brandeis held opponents to 18 goals in 17 games, a 1.06 goals-against average, with four shutouts. They held opponents to one or fewer goals in 11 of their 17 games. Gonzales also scored one goal in an early-season non-conference win over Eastern Connecticut State on Sept. 3.
Maor was named All-UAA for the first time in his career. He was second on the Judges in scoring this season with five goals for 10 points. Four of Maor's five goals came in conference play. He scored in a 1-1 draw with Carnegie Mellon on Sept. 30; in a 4-2 loss at Emory on Oct. 20; in a 2-1 loss to Case Western Reserve on Oct. 28; and in a 3-3 draw with NYU on Nov. 4. His non-conference goal came in a 3-0 win over Eastern Connecticut State on Sept. 3. Maor played two seasons with Brandeis after transferring from Division I Fordham.
Maroto Tobias, a second-team All-UAA selection a year ago, played in all 17 games with 13 starts. He was the Judges' leading scorer this season, with five goals and four assists for 14 points. He scored a goal and had two assists in UAA play to tie for second on the squad. He had an assist on the game-winning goal in the team's 2-1 win at Washington University on Oct. 7 and a goal and an assist in the Judges' 3-3 draw at NYU on Nov. 4. Maroto Tobias played two seasons with the Judges after transferring from Division I UMass Lowell.
Wrabley earned All-UAA recognition for the first time. He started 16 of 17 contests between the pipes, playing all but 90 minutes this season. He finished with a 1.41 goals-against average and .777 save percentage with a league-leading 80 stops this season. 43 of his saves came in UAA play, as Wrabley led the league in overall saves and in conference games. In his season finale against NYU on Nov. 4, he made a career-high 14 stops in a 3-3 draw.
The Brandeis men's soccer team finished 2023 with a 3-8-6 record, including 1-3-3 in the UAA, tied for sixth place in their sixth season under head coach
Gabe Margolis. The Judges return eight of 11 starters for next season, including three of their All-UAA honorees.
Osselmann-Chai is a 2022 graduate of Acton-Boxborough High School.
Gonzalez is a 2021 graduate of Divine Savior Academy.
Maor is a 2019 graduate of Northern Valley Regional High School.
Maroto Tobias is a 2019 graduate of Lexington High School.
Wrabley is a 2021 graduate of Great Valley High School.
