Men's tennis celebrates Senior Day with 9-0 win over Bridgewater State

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University men's tennis team celebrated their Class of 2021 today with a 9-0 victory over Bridgewater State University. The Judges – ranked second in the Northeast in the latest NCAA Regional rankings released today –  improve to 5-1 on the season, while the Bears fall to 0-3.

The Judges had the opportunity to start all four of their seniors. At the top of the doubles lineup, Anupreeth Coramutla (Monroe Township, N.J./Phillips Andover) and Ben Maffa (Lexington, Mass./Lexington), won by an 8-0 score. At #2, Nikhil Das (Smithfield, R.I. / Moses Brown School) and Rajan Vohra (Glen Head, N.Y. / North Shore) also won, 8-0. The four also accounted for three singles wins, with Coramutla taking #1, Das #3 and Maffa #4, all by 6-0, 6-0, scores.

Sophomore Hunter Levine (Weston, Fla. / Cypress Bay) and rookie Aaron Bayse (Mission Viejo, Calif. / Tesoro) delivered an 8-0 win at #3 doubles, as well as 6-0, 6-0, wins at #5 and #6 singles, respectively. Sophomore Simon Kauppila (Chesterfield, Mo. / Marquette) added the final point for the team, 6-1, 6-1, at #2 singles. 

Brandeis is scheduled to play one more regular-season match on Tuesday, May 4, against Division II Franklin Pierce.
