#23 Men's Tennis Loses a Tough One to Trinity (Conn.), 6-3

The Judges started the afternoon poorly, going down in all three doubles matchups. All of the matchups were close: both the No. 1 and No. 2 pairings lost 8-5, as Nos. 1 juniors Jeff Cherkin (Melville, N.Y. / Half Hollow Hills East) and Michael Arguello (Brentwood, Tenn. / Brentwood) and Nos. 2 senior Danny Lubarsky (Cleveland, Ohio / Hawken School) and rookie Jackson Kogan (Pacific Palisades, Calif. / Windward School) lost narrowly. Third pairing junior Brian Granoff (Miami, Fla. / Gulliver Prep.) and sophomore Eric Goldberg (Solon, Ohio / Solon) came even closer, losing 8-6 to Trinity's Rutendo Matingo and William Boyd.

Brandeis faired better in singles, winning three of the six matchups. Arguello got the first point for the Judges, winning the No. 3, 7-6 (3), 6-3. The other two Judges points came in the Nos. 4 and 5 matchups, as rookie Tyler Ng (Great Neck, N.Y. / Great Neck South) and Lubarsky respectively won, 6-4, 6-4 and 6-2, 6-2.

The Judges play again next weekend in the UAA Tournament at Altamonte Springs, Fla., and will try and claim a UAA title
