WORCESTER, Mass. -- For the third straight contest, the Brandeis
women's soccer team went to overtime, but the Judges were unable to
find the back of the net as they fell to host Clark University,
1-0.
Brandeis (4-2-1) was blanked for the for the first time this
season despite outshooting the Cougars, 12-10. After the opening
tap, Brandeis had the first two attempts in the first minute of the
extra session. Sophomore Tiffany Pacheco
(Rehoboth, Mass.) was off the mark 23 seconds in and Cougar junior
netminder Joanna Clark stymied rookie Alanna Torre
(Weston, Fla.) with just 47 seconds elapsed.
Clark (3-3) went the other way and sophomore Allison Kennelly
was able to get a shot past Brandeis junior Hillary
Rosenzweig (Boca Raton, Fla.) to end the game at the 91:28
mark. It was Kennely's first goal of the season.
Rosenzweig made three saves for the Judges, while Clark made
five stops for the hosts in recording her third shutout of the
season.
Brandeis is next in action against Smith College in Northampton,
Mass., Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., while Clark travels to
Keene State College the same day at 6:30 p.m.
