WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University women's soccer team took an early lead, but 8th-ranked MIT scored twice in the second half, including the game-winning goal with just over a minute remaining, to earn a 2-1 victory over the Judges on Saturday afternoon at Gordon Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Brandeis opened the scoring in the 17th minute when sophomore Grace Carman (Chicago, Ill./Lane Tech) found the back of the net for her team-leading second goal of the season.
- MIT answered in the 33rd minute when Chloe Dai scored on a low shot, with Lauren Won providing the assist, sending the teams into halftime tied, 1-1.
- Brandeis senior goalkeeper Amaya Logan (Jacksonville, Fla./Creekside) made four saves in the opening 45 minutes to keep the match level heading into the break.
- The Engineers generated increased pressure in the second half, recording eight shots and four corner kicks after halftime.
- Logan continued to keep Brandeis in the match, making three additional saves in the second period.
- The Judges continued to push for an equalizer in the closing minutes, as senior Tanvi Raju (Hyderabad, India/Indus International School) sent a shot just high in the 88th minute before first year Valerie Bunde's (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) attempt was blocked in the final minute.
- MIT broke the deadlock with just under two minutes remaining when Andrea Cummings scored on a pass by Arianna Doss, to give the Engineers the 2-1 victory.

- MIT held a 14-4 advantage in shots and a 9-1 edge in shots on goal, while also earning six corner kicks compared to one for Brandeis.
- Logan made seven saves for the Judges, while the MIT goalkeeper made no saves.

- Dai and Cummings each scored for MIT, while Won and Doss each recorded an assist.
