WALTHAM, Mass. -- Two members of the Brandeis University women's basketball team have earned All-University Athletic Association honors. Senior
Abby Kennedy of
Half Moon Bay, California, was named a second-team All-UAA selection, while classmate
Katherine Vaughan of
Bedford, Massachusetts, earned a spot on the All-UAA honorable mention.
Kennedy was named an honorable mention All-UAA selection as a junior. This season, she posted a career-high in scoring, averaging 16.3 points per game, while contributing 3.8 rebounds and about one assist and one steal per game. Kennedy finished third in the UAA in scoring, while her 13.7 points per game in UAA play was 10th. She ranked 93rd overall in NCAA Division III in scoring this season.Â
Kennedy set Brandeis's single-season record with 54 3-pointers in 2025-26, fifth-most in the UAA and 76th in Division III in 3-pointers per game. She eclipsed the Judges' previous 3-point mark of 50 set in 2021-22 by Camila Casanueva '22. Kennedy became the 10th player in Brandeis history with 100 career trifectas, finishing eighth on the career list with 110. Kennedy also finished second in the league in free-throw percentage at 81.3%, the 13th-best single season in program history and 72nd in Division III this season.Â
Kennedy scored in double figures in 18 of Brandeis's 25 games this season, and led the team in scoring 17 times. She posted nine 20-point performances, including a career-high 28 points on Nov. 13 against Rhode Island College. Kennedy will graduate with 789 career points, 23rd on Brandeis's career list.Â
Vaughan earned a spot on the All-UAA honorable mention for the second year in a row. She was second on the team in scoring, averaging 9.0 points per game and led the squad in rebounding, ranking fifth in the UAA at 7.3 boards per game. She scored in double digits 10 times and posted seven double-digit rebound games this season, accounting for five double-doubles. Her career scoring high came on Dec. 3 against Clark University, when she scored 24 points, while her top career rebounding performance was a 12-board game against Swarthmore on Nov. 8.Â
Vaughan also led the UAA in blocked shots with 42, ranking 66th in Division III in total blocks and 59th in blocks per game. Vaughn owns the top three single-season blocked shot marks in school history, with her 42 this season trailing only last year's 46 rejections. Her 139 career blocks are 48 more than the next-closest player on the Judges' career list. Vaughan also ranks 11th on the career rebounding list with 520.
The Brandeis women's basketball team finished the year with a 13-12 record, 3-11 in the UAA, in their second season under head coach
Julie Prichett. The winning record was their first since 2019-20, and gave them back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time since 2016-17 and 2017-18.Â
Kennedy is a 2022 graduate of Half Moon Bay High School. Vaughan is a 2022 graduate of Bedford High School.Â
