WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University women's basketball senior
Abby Kennedy of
Half Moon Bay, California, has been named a second-team All-Region 2 selection by d3hoops.com.
Kennedy was previously named a second-team All-University Athletic Association selection. This season, she posted a career-high in scoring, averaging 16.3 points per game, while contributing 3.8 rebounds and about one assist and one steal per game. Kennedy finished third in the UAA in scoring, while her 13.7 points per game in UAA play was 10th. She ranked 93rd overall in NCAA Division III in scoring this season.Â
Kennedy set Brandeis's single-season record with 54 3-pointers in 2025-26, fifth-most in the UAA and 76th in Division III in 3-pointers per game. She eclipsed the Judges' previous 3-point mark of 50 set in 2021-22 by Camila Casanueva '22. Kennedy became the 10th player in Brandeis history with 100 career trifectas, finishing eighth on the career list with 110. Kennedy also finished second in the league in free-throw percentage at 81.3%, the 13th-best single season in program history and 72nd in Division III this season.Â
Kennedy scored in double figures in 18 of Brandeis's 25 games this season, and led the team in scoring 17 times. She posted nine 20-point performances, including a career-high 28 points on Nov. 13 against Rhode Island College. Kennedy will graduate with 789 career points, 23rd on Brandeis's career list.Â
The Brandeis women's basketball team finished the year with a 13-12 record, 3-11 in the UAA, in their second season under head coach
Julie Prichett. The winning record was their first since 2019-20, and gave them back-to-back 10-win seasons for the first time since 2016-17 and 2017-18.Â
Kennedy is a 2022 graduate of Half Moon Bay High School.Â
