WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University softball sophomore 3B Jordan Wallace of
Howell, New Jersey, has earned University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week honors for the week ending March 29.
Wallace helped the Judges go 3-2 last week, including a three-game University Athletic Association sweep of New York University over the weekend. She batted .579 (11-19) with three doubles, a triple and a home run for a 1.000 slugging percentage and a .579 on-base percentage. Wallace scored six runs and drove in 16 during the week. She batted safely in all five contests to extend her hitting streak to 11 games.
After going 1-3 in both ends of a double-header against Suffolk University (losses of 4-1 and 9-4), Wallace helped the Judges outscore NYU, 28-10, across three games. She was 3-5 with a double and five RBI in the opener, a 9-5 win, and 3-4 with four RBI, two doubles and one run scored in an 8-2 Game Two win. In the series finale, an 11-3 Brandeis victory, Wallace was a double short of the cycle, going 3-4 with a triple, a home run and seven RBI, tying for the most in a single game by a Brandeis player since 2005.
Overall this season, Wallace is batting .453 with a UAA-leading 39 RBI. She is currently ranked fifth in Division III in total RBI and seventh in RBI per game. With six doubles, two triples and three home runs, she also leads the UAA with a .750 slugging percentage, ranking 101st in Division III.
Wallace joins teammates Ragini Kannan and
Bells Burdenski in earning UAA Softball Player of the Week honors this season.
Brandeis owns a 12-6 overall record, 3-3 in the UAA. The Judges are back in action this week with non-conference doubleheaders at UMass Dartmouth and Wellesley before returning home on Thursday to host Bates College.
Wallace is a 2024 graduate of Choate Rosemary Hall.
