WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University softball senior centerfielder Bells Burdenski of San Diego, California, has earned University Athletic Association Hitter of the Week honors for the week ending March 15. 

Burdenski helped the Judges to four wins and a 9-1 start as they swept Wentworth on Saturday, 11-6 and 13-9, and Simmons on Sunday, 11-4 in eight innings and 9-0 in innings. She batted 6-11 (.545) with two doubles and a home run for a 1.000 slugging percentage and two walks and a sac fly for a .533 OBP. 

In the opener against Wentworth, Burdenski had a career-high four hits in five at-bats and drove in a career-high-tying five RBI, including a three-run home run that turned a 4-2 deficit into a 5-4 lead that the Judges would not relinquish. She reached base in all three plate appearances in Game 2 of the doubleheader against the Leopards with a double and two walks. After going 1-4 with an RBI in the team's 9-run eighth in Game 1 against Simmons, she had three RBI without a hit in Game 2, driving in one run on an error and two more with sacrifice flies.

Overall this season, Burdenski is hitting .371 with a team-leading .686 slugging percentage and a .400 on-base percentage. She has 12 RBI and nine runs scored with four doubles, two triples, and a home run. 

With a 9-1 start, including nine wins in a row, the Judges are on their longest winning streak since 2023. They return to action this weekend with a three-game series against #23 Emory. 

Burdenski is a 2022 graduate of Rancho Bernardo High School.
