WALTHAM, Mass. – Brandeis University junior right fielder
Maddie Manes of
San Clemente, California, has been honored as one of nine recipients of an Rawlings Gold Glove Award, presented by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as one of the top fielders in Division III this season.
Â
Manes played in 37 of 39 games for the Judges in right field this season. She did not make an error in 58 chances, with four assists and two double plays to go with her 54 putouts. Manes had the fifth-most chances without an error this season among any player in the University Athletic Association, while finishing second among UAA outfielders in assists.
Â
"Maddie has been a steady force in right field for us over the past two years," said Judges head coach
Dani Bishop. "Earning the NFCA Gold Glove is a true testament to the grit, instinct, and consistency she brings to the outfield every single day. I'm incredibly proud of how she's embraced the transition back to the outfield after starting her college career at first base — and of the relentless work she's put in to become one of the best."
Â
Manes is the first Brandeis player to earn NFCA/Rawlings Gold Glove honors since the program's inception in 2023. Â Recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, presented by the NFCA, were selected by the 10 regional representatives of the NFCA's NCAA Division III All-America Committee, following regional voting to identify the finalists at each position. The group utilized fielding statistics and school-submitted video to closely examine finalists and select the winners at every defensive position.
