Baseball drops series finale with #21 CWRU, 15-3

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University baseball team dropped its 2025 UAA finale to #21-ranked Case Western Reserve today, 15-3.

TEAM RECORDS
  • Brandeis: 11-27, 3-17 UAA.
  • CWRU: 25-12-1, 14-5-1 UAA.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After the Spartans put up 23 runs and scored in every inning yesterday, they continued their hot hitting with four runs in each of the first two frames today to take an 8-0 lead.
  • Brandeis scored a run in the fourth when grad student Jake Freed (Vernon Hills, Ill./Stevenson) walked, followed by a single from first-year DH Danny Tambascia (Newton, Mass./Newton North). A wild pitch moved them into scoring position and sophomore Dylan Walsh (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) brought home Freed with a grounder to short.
  • After the Spartans were held scoreless in the third and fourth, they added three runs each in the fifth and sixth and a solo run in the seventh.
  • Brandeis tacked on two runs in the last of the seventh, highlighted by a double from first-year catcher Keith Lee (Milford, Mass./Milford) and RBI from sophomore SS Mano Boutsikakis (Astoria, N.Y./Xavier) and sophomore CF Connor Crowley (Guilford, Conn./Notre Dame-West Haven).
