#25 women's tennis breaks into win column, 7-0, over Wheaton

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University women's tennis team needed just over 90 minutes to earn their first win of the season, sweeping Wheaton College, 7-0, in their first home outdoor match of 2025 in the Cordish Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Judges did not lose more than three games in any one match.
  • Senior Bhakti Parwani (Ahmedabad, India/Kumkum School) was the most tested Brandeis player. At #1 doubles, she and classmate Sabrina Loui (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) were 6-3 winners. Parwani defeated Wheaton's Kara Greenlee for the second time, 6-1, 6-2, at #1 singles.
  • Brandeis won their second doubles match at #2, where junior Nancy Zhang (Shanghai, China/Shanghai International Division) and sophomore Mandy Reyes (Manila, Philippines/Laurel Springs School) won, 6-1. Zhang also won, 6-1, 6-1, at #3 singles.
  • Sophomore Chahana Budhbhatti (Ahmedabad, India/Aavishkar School) took a 6-2, 6-0, victory at #2.
  • Senior Anastasia Sia (Thessaloniki, Greece/Anatoli College) won, 6-1, 6-1, at #4 singles, and first-year Charly Saltz (Natick, Mass./Learning Post Academy) just missed a complete sweep at #5, 6-0, 6-1.
  • With just five players available, Wheaton was unable to contest #3 doubles or #6 singles.

  • The Judges travel to Saratoga Springs, New York, on Sunday to meet Skidmore College at 1 p.m.
