Swimmers sweep Keene and Bridgewater State

KEENE, N.H. – The Brandeis University swimming and diving teams went on the road on Saturday afternoon and picked up a pair of wins at Keene State College against the host Owls and Bridgewater State. The Brandeis men defeated KSC, 193-62, and BSC, 165-121. The women defeated Keene State, 193-62, and Bridgewater State, 184-77. The Judges won all but five of the meet's 32 events.

TOP PERFORMERS – WOMEN
  • Juniors Jenna Wild (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) and Rebecca Kaplan (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary School) led the way for the Judges. Wild won three individual events, while Kaplan had two, plus a second-place finish behind Wild.
  • Wild won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:46.01, the 100 free with a time of 57.39 seconds, and the 500 free in 5:40.37.
  • Kaplan showed her versatility by capturing the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 5:04.33 and the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:40.23, while finishing second in the 1000 free in 11:52.54.
  • Senior Chloe Gonzalez (Miami Beach, Fla./Miami Beach Senior) was a double winner in the 200 free (1:57.83) and the 50 free (24.95).
  • Classmate Anastasia Bekou (Limassol, Cypru/ Laniteio Lyceum) captured both backstroke events, winning the 50 in 29.25 seconds and the 200 in 2:18.64.
  • Senior Eva Parson (Milford, Mass./Milford) took the 50-yard breaststroke in 34.28 seconds.
  • The Judges also won both relays, with Bekou, Kaplan, Gonzalez and Wild winning the 200 medley in 1:55.27, and junior Samantha Slater (Portsmouth, N.H./Portsmouth), Bekou, junior Audrey Teo (Palo Alto, Calif./Palo Alto) and Gonzalez taking the 200 free relay in 1:44.88.
TOP PERFORMERS – MEN
  • On the men's side, the junior class led the way with a trio of double winners. Sam Bundy (Charlotte, N.C./Ardrey Kell) captured the 1000 free in 10:31.89 and the 200 butterfly in 2:04.64.
  • Benjamin Lee (Upton, Mass./Nipmuc Regional) took the 200 backstroke in 2:02.95 and the 200 free in 1:49.98.
  • Eric Xiao (College Station, Texas/AM Consolidated) won the 50 breaststroke in 28.31 seconds and the 100 free in 49.17 seconds.
  • First-year Peter Mou (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Brimmer and May School) won the 50 free in 21.66 seconds and the 500 free in 5:03.89
  • Sophomore Riley Pasicaran (Kennewick, Wash./Hanford) captured the 50 back in 27.07 seconds.
  • First-year Daniyal Nabi (Lahore, Pakistan/Aitchison College) claimed the 200 breaststroke in 2:32.41.
  • In the relays, Pasicaran, Lee, Xiao, and Mou combined to take the 200 medley in 1:39.99, while Xiao, junior Solomon Skelton-Harris (Golden Valley, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong), Lee and Mou won the 200 free in 1:28.88.
