WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University women's swimming and diving team opened up the 2025 portion of its schedule tonight with a sprint meet against Stonehill College. The visiting Skyhawks swept the Judges, winning 86-26.
Senior
Anastasia Bekou (Limassol, Cyprus/Laniteio Lyceum) was the top performer for the Judges, with a pair of second-place finishes and a third. She touched second in the 50-yard backstroke by just eight-hundredths of a second with a time of 28.28 seconds and in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 27.62 seconds, 0.22 seconds out of the top spot. Bekou was third in the 100-yard individual medley with a mark of 1:03.47.
Senior
Chloe Gonzalez (Miami Beach, Fla./Miami Beach Senior) also had a second-place finish, in the 50-yard freestyle, where her mark of 25.36 seconds was 0.32 out of first place.
Junior
Rebecca Kaplan (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary School) was Brandeis's top finisher in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 33.12 seconds, placing fourth.
The Judges fall to 0-8. They return to action on Saturday at 12 noon with a tri-meet at Keene State along with Bridgewater State.
