Men's soccer drops Homecoming contest to #20 Babson, 2-0

WALTHAM, Mass. –  The Brandeis University men's soccer team dropped its second-straight contest today, falling by a 2-0 score to their long-time rivals Babson College on Gordon Field during the Judges' annual Homecoming game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Beavers scored twice in a seven-minute span late in the first half.
  • In the 37th minute, grad student Kento Abe beat Brandeis senior Quintin Wrabley (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) inside the near post from 20 yards out to open the scoring. Fellow grad student Tyler Fidrych had the assist.
  • With just 1:08 left in the stanza, Liam Goldstein headed home a short corner on another assist by Fidrych to double the lead.
  • That was all the offense the visitors needed. They outshot Brandeis, 11-8, including 4-3 in shots on goal.
  • Brandeis junior Nico Beninda (Monroe Township, N.J./Monroe Township) had four shots for the Judges, including all three shots on net.
  • Babson's Walker White made all three stops to preserve the clean sheet, while Wrabley had one save.
  • This was the 71st all-time meeting between Brandeis and Babson, the most-played in Judges' history. The Beavers now own a 32-28-11 lead in the series.
