ST. LOUIS, Mo. –Brandeis University women's basketball sophomore

TEAM RECORDS
- Brandeis: 5-19, 1-12 UAA.
- Washington U.: 16-8, 9-4 UAA.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After falling behind, 15-5, the Judges scored the last six points of the first quarter to get within 15-11.
- It was all Washington after that, as the Judges hit just four field goals the rest of the way, one each in each in the second and third periods and two in the fourth as the Bears rolled to victory.
- Vaughan, who hit 6-of-8 from the line and had one of Brandeis's seven baskets to finish with eight points, blocked one shot in the second quarter, then erased the Bears' first attempt of the second half to register her 39th blocked shot of the season.
- With the block, she surpassed Natalia Zubko '00 for the single-season record with a mark that has stood since the 1998-99 season.
- In the end, the Brandeis offense was unable to keep up with WashU, as the Judges shot just 7-of-56 from the field and missed all 23 of their 3-point attempts. The bulk of the Brandeis offense came from the free-throw line, where they hit 16-of-24.
- Junior Caitlin Gresko (Howell, N.J./Howell) led Brandeis with nine points, while sophomore Brooke Reed (Chantilly, Va./Westfield) had seven rebounds. Sophomore Lillie Singleton () had two assists.
- Washington's Jessica Brooks scored 16 points and had nine rebounds, while Nailah McBeth added 13 points off the bench. Lexy Harris had nine points, nine boards and three assists to lead the Bears.
UP NEXT
- The Judges will close out the regular season next Saturday at 1 p.m. against UAA champions NYU, the top-ranked team in Division III.
