Box Score SANFORD, Fla. – The Brandeis University baseball team fell victim to the University Athletic Association's 10-run rule for the second day in a row as the Judges dropped a 16-3 decision to the University of Rochester at Seminole State College in Sanford, Fla. The Judges fall to 4-4 overall, 1-4 in the UAA. The Yellowjackets improve to 2-3 overall and in the UAA.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rochester scored runs in each of their six trips to the plate, scoring their 16 runs on 18 hits, including six doubles and a home run by 3B Pete Carrier.
- The Judges got an RBI single from senior 1B Greg Heineman (Wilbraham, Mass. / Minnechaug Regional) in the third inning, his fourth RBI in five UAA contests.
- Junior DH Ryan Tettemer (Westfield, Mass. / Suffield Acad.) had an RBI groundout in the fourth inning, while senior SS Jay Schaff (Cheshire, Conn. / Xavier) hit a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
FOR THE JUDGES - HITTERS
- The Judges had two hits each from Heineman, senior catcher Connor Doyle (Avon, Conn./Avon Old Farms) and junior 3B Marvic Gomez (Providence, R.I. / Juanita Sanchez).
- Doyle's double in the fourth was the team's only extra-base hit. He scored in that inning, his fourth run scored in the UAA tournament.
FOR THE JUDGES - PITCHERS
- Sophomore Nolan Murray (Avon, Mass./Thayer Acad.) took the loss in his first career start, throwing the first 2.1 innings.
- Junior Liam Coughlin (Townsend, Mass. / Lowell Catholic) tossed the next 2.2 innings of relief, while senior Liam O'Connor (Avon, Conn./Avon) got the final three outs of the game.
FOR THE YELLOWJACKETS
- Rochester's Carrier and Ryan Spurr each went 4-4. Carrier drove in a team-high three RBI.
- Luke Myerson went the distance to improve to 1-0 on the season. He struck out three and did not walk a batter, giving up nine hits and three runs (two unearned).

- Brandeis meets Case Western Reserve tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. The Judges fell to the Spartans, 6-3, in the first game of the UAA tournament.
