SANFORD, Fla.-- The Brandeis baseball team split on the second day of the University Athletic Association championships. In their second game of the day, Brandeis fell to Case Western Reserve, 12-5, despite two more round-trippers despite a 3-for-5 performance from rookie centerfielder Nick Cortese (Guaynabo, P.R./Baldwin School of Puerto Rico) out of the lead-off spot.

Three different players went 4-9 on the day, with Ferro driving in five, and junior  3B Tony Deshler (Pepperell, Mass./Lawrence Acad.) crossing the plate five times with a double and a triple.
