WALTHAM, Mass. -- Senior Benjamin Lee of Upton, Massachusetts, from the men’s swimming and diving team, and sophomore Alexa Ho of Queens, New York, and the women’s volleyball team have been named the Brandeis University Athletes of the Week for the week ending October 26. The Brandeis Athlete of the Week program is presented by The Chateau Restaurant and Jake n JOES Sports Grille.

Lee and the men’s swimming and diving team opened their 2025-26 campaign with a narrow 136-126 win over Vassar College on Saturday afternoon. Lee was a triple winner for the Judges, earning wins in the 200 freestyle (1:50.02), 50 freestyle (22.38 seconds), and 200 IM (2:01.01). He was also part of the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:17.57) that helped clinch the team victory in the day’s final race.

Brandeis swimming and diving returns to action on Friday evening, October 31st, with a multi-team meet against Babson, Coast Guard, Smith and WPI in Worcester, Mass.

Ho made Brandeis volleyball history by becoming the 11th player in school history to reach the 1,000-assist mark in Brandeis’s 3-1 win over Simmons University on Thursday evening. She tallied a career-high 51 assists, reaching the milestone at the end of the second set. She also had a team-high three service aces and served 12-straight points in the fourt set as Brandeis pulled away from the Sharks for a 25-21, 24-26, 27-25, 25-14 victory.

Brandeis also went 1-1 at the final University Athletic Association Round Robin of the season on Oct. 26, falling to Washington University and defeating the University of Rochester. Ho suffered a minor injury in the first match and was limited in her action.

Brandeis will play two matches in Rhode Island on Nov. 1 with a trimatch at Salve Regina along with Johnson and Wales.

This is the tenth year that the Brandeis Athlete of the Week program has been presented by The Chateau Restaurant Group. The Athlete of the Year Program highlights top Brandeis student-athletes who have had an outstanding athletic achievement in the week prior.  Each selected student-athlete will be featured on the Brandeis athletics homepage and inside the Chateau Waltham and Jake n JOES
