Getting to know Leah

My majors are: biology and Health: Science, Society and Policy

My favorite part about competing for Brandeis, other than my teammates, is: Playing the sport I love for a school that already means so much to me. I can't wait to represent Brandeis in the best way possible on and off the court.

My favorite athletic moment is: When I connect with one of my hitters, as if a light bulb went off and when we finally succeed at a certain play we’ve been trying to perfect for weeks or months. Luckily, I have many of these moments with my teammates.

My favorite Brandeis professor is: Dr. Melissa Kosinski-Collins (biology) because I've never met a professor who cares more about her students than she does. She is there for her students past solely academics.

My favorite place on campus isThe third floor science center, surrounded by 10 whiteboards, with an ice cold coffee is my natural habitat on campus.

My dream job isI want to become an orthopedic surgeon for an NFL or NBA team because I've always loved medicine and sports, to be able to combine them into one career for the rest of my life would be the most rewarding accomplishment.

One thing people would be surprised to know about me: My favorite animal is a shark and one of my bucket list items is to go deep sea diving in with at least 50 of the over 375 species of sharks.
