Getting to know Maria...

My favorite part about competing for Brandeis is: Competing for my coaches because they invest so much of themselves into this team.

My favorite athletic moment at Brandeis is: Winning the ECAC Championship.

My favorite class or professor at Brandeis is: Lotus Goldberg because she is the reason I fell in love with linguistics.

I studied abroad in: Grenoble, France. My favorite part was hiking the French Alps.

 

2014-15: Team’s top returning scorer and second returning rebounder… Also top returner in field-goal percentage.

2013-14: Finished third on the team in scoring (8.6 ppg) and rebounding (4.6 rpg)… Led team with a 47.6 field-goal percentage… Was team’s top scorer in five games, top rebounder in three games… Eight double-digit scoring performances and two 10-rebound games… Career-high in scoring game in 73-35 win over UMass Boston, 1/6/14, when she hit 7-of-10 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the line… Posted a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds on 2/2/14 to lead Judges to 58-55 win at Carnegie Mellon… Thirteen caroms were one shy of team’s season-best performance… Scored 16 next time out against Case Western Reserve, 2/7/14, in a 71-58 victory… With 12 points in rematch with CMU, 2/9/14, helped Judges to longest winning streak since ’08-’09 and longest UAA streak since ’03-’04… Added 15 points - including game-winning bucket - and seven rebounds in 75-72 win at Emory on 2/23/14, completing a sweep of team ranked in top 10 earlier in the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered all four years in basketball, volleyball, and track at Hilton High School… Started all four years in basketball, earning the captaincy twice… Captained for one year in volleyball and track… Earned All-County and MVP honors in basketball… Holds school discus record and was a sectional champion and state qualifier in track… Was the vice president of the National Honor Society.
