The Judges went 21-15, setting a program record for UAA wins with 11, and placing third in their best finish in the conference since 2008. They turned in their first 20-win season since 2011.
Two members of the squad - Ben Kuja ‘28 and Danny Tambascia ‘28 - were named to the All-UAA First Team and the ABCA All-Region team.
Kuja and Keith Lee ‘28 were named to the CSC Academic All-District team, while Matt Chafin ‘27 earned ABCA/Rawlings Regional Gold Glove honors at second base.
The Judges boasted one of the best defenses in Division III, finishing 10th with a .975 fielding percentage, and a top-line pitching staff that was fifth in hits allowed per nine innings at 7.41.

During the shortened 2020 and 2021 seasons, the Judges won 18 of 25 games, then came back and went 18-16 in the first full season back.
Mike Khoury ‘21/M’22 was named the UAA Position Player of the Year and the first five-time All-UAA selection in a team sport in program history.
Khoury led the UAA in batting average, home runs and runs scored and tied for second in RBI. His 11 home runs were just the fifth season of double digits in school history as he finished second in Brandeis history in home runs, slugging percentage and runs scored
Khoury, Dan Frey ‘21/’22 and Victory Oppenheimer ‘20/M’22 each earned All-UAA honors, while Khoury and Frey were named to the D3Baseball.com All-Region team

He earned his 300th career victory with a 17-13 victory over Becker College on April 11th.

In his first season, he led the team to its first postseason berth in five years with a record of 19-17.

Carlson has served as the chair of the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA) All-New England Committee for the past five years.
He sat on the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) All-America Committee for three years.

Carlson was head coach at Roger Williams University since 2003. He succeeded Pete Varney at Brandeis, who retired from the dugout in the spring of 2015 after 34 years and more than 700 wins as the Judges' head coach.
In 13 seasons at Roger Williams, Carlson compiled 261 victories and was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Coach of the Year four times, most recently in 2014.
His 2008 Roger Williams squad established a school record for wins with 34 and won an ECAC New England title. Carlson's players have earned 61 All-CCC selections, 16 All-New England honors, and two All-America honors. He's also had 87 All-CCC Academic team members and more than 200 Dean's List students.
Carlson served as an assistant coach at Wheaton College between 1996 and 2003, and at his alma mater under coach Varney from 1991 to 1996.

At Brandeis, Carlson was a four-year starter at catcher who served as team captain as a senior.
He was a Greater Boston League All-Star twice and three times an All-University Athletic Association selection.
He played in the Cape Cod League for the Harwich Mariners after his junior season. Carlson was a .313 career hitter – hitting better than .300 in three of his four seasons - with nine home runs and 92 RBI.

A native of Salem, Mass., Carlson was inducted into the Salem High Hall of Fame in 2009.
