- The Judges tried a double-steal with one out, but Quill tried to advance home when the throw down to second got away, only for the Colby defense to catch him at the plate.
- Brandeis starter Andrew Tringe (Montpelier, Vt./Montpelier) was in control, but surrendered an unearned run in the fifth. With two away, Patrick Shrake singled and stole second, and Corey Aubuchon's grounder to short was misplayed, allowing the tying run to score.
- The teams left runners on base in the bottom of the sixth and top of the seventh before the Mules walked it off in the bottom of the seventh.
- Henry Silva singled to lead off the frame and was bunted to second. Tringe got Aubuchon to pop to first for the second out, but Colby's Will Burns drilled a double to left for the walk-off victory.

- Quill got things started again for the Judges in the third, singling and stealing second before coming home on another Tambascia grounder. Sophomore DH Keith Lee (Milford, Mass./Milford) then struck a two-out double, moved to third on a passed ball and scored on an error with what proved to be the winning run.
- Colby's Aubuchon got a run back in the fourth with a sac fly, but Kuja doubled and scored on a Tambascia hit coupled with an error in the outfield in the fifth to push the lead back to 5-3.
