WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University women's track and field sophomore
Peterly Leroy of
Malden, Massachusetts, has earned University Athletic Association Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors for the week ending Feb. 1.
Leroy earned her first UAA Athlete of the Week honor the season for her performance at the Boston University John Thomas Terrier Invitational on Friday evening. Competing in the 400-meter run, Leroy ran a time of 56.03 seconds. She won her heat over a runner from Harvard by 0.03 seconds. Leroy finished 12th overall, second among Division III runners. The time is the third-fastest in Division III this season and establishes a new school record, as she lowered her previous career-best by 0.77 seconds.
Leroy was a second-team All-American in the 400-meter run, finishing in 10th place both indoors and outdoors in the event. She was the runner-up at the indoor UAA Championships and third outdoors last year as a first-year.
Leroy and the Judges are back in action this weekend at the Tufts Stampede on February 8.
Leroy is a 2024 graduate of Prospect Hill Academy Charter School.
