TEAM RECORDS
  • Brandeis, 10-12.
  • Wentworth, 13-9.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first two sets were mirror-images of each other. Wentworth held Brandeis to a .000 hitting percentage in the first set, taking it 25-14, while the Judges did the same to the Leopards in the second, 25-15.
  • The third set was the tightest of the night, with four tie scores, the latest coming at 16-all after a kill by Judge junior Kennedy Lilly (Atlanta, Ga./Eagle's Landing Christian Academy).
  • Wentworth answered with the next three points in a row, kicking off a 9-3 run to close out the set, 25-19.
  • The hosts ran out to an 8-3 lead in the fourth set, never letting the Judges score more than two points in a row as they closed it out, 25-13.
  • Haft-Abromovitch's 19 kills were tied for her second-most of the season, and her highest total in a four-set match. She had just six errors in 47 attempts for a .277 percentage, third-best on the team tonight.
  • Valenzuela notched her fourth double-double of the season, leading the Judges with 16 assists and 14 digs – one shy of a career-high.
  • Junior Alexa Ho (Queens, N.Y./Frances Lewis) just missed a double-double of her own with 15 assists and nine digs.
  • Lilly and Haft-Abromovitch each had a solo block, but Wentworth's net game was excellent, outblocking the Judges, 12-2.
  • The Leopards also had a 10-4 edge in service aces.
UP NEXT
  • Brandeis returns to action on Sunday afternoon with the final two University Athletic Association matches of the regular season, taking on #5 Carnegie Mellon and the University of Rochester at Washington University in St. Louis.
