WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University men's basketball senior Elias Rodl of Berlin, Germany, has earned University Athletic Association Player of the Week honors for the week ending Jan. 11. This is his second UAA Player of the Week honor this season.

Rodl led the Judges to a 2-0 week with wins against Lasell University in non-conference play and NYU in UAA action. He averaged 27 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game, shooting 62% from the field (21-34), 53% from 3-point range (9-17) and 75% from the line (3-4). Rodl scored a career-high 29 points in a 90-79 win over Lasell with six rebounds and 3 assists, then notched 25 points and five boards in an 88-85 win over NYU. He tied a career-best with six 3-pointers in the win over the Violets.

Overall this season, Rodl leads Brandeis with a 21.7 point-per-game scoring average, second-best in the UAA and 34th in Division III. He also leads the team and is tied for fourth in the league in rebounding at 7.5 boards per game. Rodl's 3.0 3-pointers per game are second in the UAA and 24th nationally, while his 45.0% 3-point percentage ranks third in the conference and 18th in the country. 

The 8-4 Judges, in their eighth season under head coach Jean Bain, have won five in a row. The Judges are back in action on Friday evening when they play host to #3-ranked Emory at 5:30 p.m.
