WALTHAM, Mass. -- The Brandeis University volleyball team has added
Keelin Severtson as its newest assistant coach, head coach
Alesia Bennett announced today.
Severtson comes to Brandeis from Macalester College in Minnesota, where she was an assistant for the Scots during their 2024 season, when they had their best Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference finish since 2004 and highest conference win total since 2006. Prior to that, she spent four seasons at Albion College in Michigan, where the Britons produced 15 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association honorees and three All-Region award winners. They earned a national ranking from the American Volleyball Coaches Association in 2022.Â
Severtson's prior experience in New England includes two seasons at UMass Boston in 2018, when the Beacons were Little East Conference co-champions, and in 2019, when they won the LEC and reached the NCAA Division III tournament.Â
"I've known Keelin since her time at UMass Boston, and I'm excited to be working alongside her," said Bennett. "We complement each other well. She understands the approach to working with the kind of student-athletes who epitomize both sides of the coin, like we have at Brandeis."Â
Severtson also served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Albion and as an interim admissions counselor in her time there.Â
Severtson received her B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of New Hampshire in 2017. As a member of the Wildcats, she was named a captain as a senior. A two-time America East Conference Setter of the Year, she helped guide the team to four America East regular-season and conference tournament titles, reaching the first round of the NCAA Division I tournament.
