HOW IT HAPPENED

- Brandeis opened the scoring in the sixth minute with a flurry of shots. BSU keeper Marcy Clapp twice denied junior Lacey Mbugua (Brockton, Mass. / Worcester Academy) before sophomore Peterly Leroy (Malden, Mass. / Prospect Hill Academy Charter School) was able to convert her first goal of the season and the fifth of her career.
- The game-winning goal came in the 17th minute, when senior captain Caroline Alcock (Southborough, Mass. / Algonquin Regional) headed home a corner kick taken by first-year Kira Pevow (Houston, Texas / Emery-Weiner Schools).
- BSU got one back in the 29th minute when senior Jenna Sweeney converted a pass by Erin Richards into the far-right netting past the dive of Brandeis junior Amaya Logan (Jacksonville, Fla. / Creekside).
- The Judges' final two goals of the first half came less than two minutes apart, in the 38th and 40th minutes. Pevow found the upper 90 on a free kick from 25 yards out for her first collegiate goal, and junior Abby Kenkelen (Philadelphia, Pa. / Springside Chestnut Hill) blasted home a cross from first-year Grace Carman (Chicago, Ill. / Lane Tech) to end the first-half scoring.
- Kenkelen scored the lone second-half goal on an assist from Leroy in the 51st minute.
- The two goals were the second and third of Kenkelen's career, marking her first collegiate brace.
