CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Brandeis University men's tennis team, ranked #36 in Division III by the ITA, won four singles matches in a row to defeat host MIT, 5-2, on the road, giving the Judges their sixth win in the last seven matches, both this season and in their rivalry with the Engineers.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Judges jumped out to a 1-0 lead by winning the doubles point. Grad student Dylan Walters (Baltimore, Md./Gilman School) and first-year Daniel Shemesh (Modiin, Israel/Ironi Hey Modiin) cruised at #1, 6-1.
- At #2, sophomore Pierce Garbett (Weston, Fla./Cypress Bay) and first-year Aidan Wang-Fan (Richmond Hill, Ont./Bill Crothers Secondary School) were 6-3 winners. MIT took the #3 match by the same score.
- MIT took an brief 2-1 lead in singles action with wins at #2 and #3.
- Sophomore Huasen Dong (Richmond Hill, Ont./Richmond Green Secondary School) evened the match at #4, coming from a set down for a 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 win. Dong improved to 2-0 this season in three set matches.
- Walters took a 7-5, 6-4 match at #1, giving Brandeis a 3-2 lead headed into the final two matches.
- Wang-Fan picked up the clinching point at #5, 6-3, 6-4, and first-year Benjamin Kotzen (Austin, Texas/Austin Tennis Academy College Prep) edged his opponent at #6, 6-4, 6-4, to finish off the win.
