WALTHAM, Mass. – The Brandeis University women's tennis team, ranked #36 in Division III by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, wrapped up their regular season with a ninth-straight win, defeating visiting Springfield College, 7-0, at the Cordish Tennis Center today.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Judges swept doubles action with a couple of quick wins, 6-0 and 6-1, at #2 and #3. Senior Bhakti Parwani (Ahmedabad, India/Kumkum School) and junior Rebecca Suarez (New York, N.Y./International Virtual Learning Academy) used a late break of serve at #1 to complete the sweep, 6-4.
- In singles action, the Judges decided things quickly with three matches in which they lost 0 or 1 games. Junior Nancy Zhang (Shanghai International School) picked up a double bagel - 6-0, 6-0 – at #4, while senior Sabrina Loui (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou School) won 6-1, 6-0, at #6.
- Sophomore Chahana Budhbhatti (Ahmedabad, India/Aavishkar School) clinched the win at #3 with a 6-0, 6-1, win.
- Senior Anastasia Sia (Thessaloniki, Greece/Anatolia College) was a 6-2, 6-1, victor at #5, the Judges' fourth win in under an hour.
- Suarez and Parwani each took just over an hour to win, with Suarez taking a 6-3, 6-2 decision at the top singles spot, while Parwani claimed a 6-4, 6-2, win at #2 to complete the sweep.
- With Brandeis's win, they extend their winning streak to nine in a row, equaling the longest streak since they won nine-straight to end '85-'86 and start '86-'87. The Judges also had a nine-match streak across the '84-'85 and '85-'86 campaigns.
- Brandeis's longest winning streak in a single season was 10 in a row in the 1980-81 campaign.
- Brandeis won by a 7-0 score for the seventh time this season, with six of those wins including doubles sweeps.

- The Judges will play next in the University Athletic Association tournament next weekend in Altamonte Springs, Florida. They will learn their seed early next week – seven of the eight teams are ranked among the top 40 in Division III by the ITA, with six in the top 25.
