BUZZARDS BAY, Mass. – The Brandeis University baseball team tied the school record for runs scored in a doubleheader today, as the Judges went on the road and swept Mass. Maritime, 24-7 and 18-3, in Buzzards Bay.

- Brandeis, 4-5.

RECORD OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE
- The only other time that the Judges scored as many runs in a twin-bill came on April 14, 1979, when they swept Bowdoin College, 19-1 and 23-5.
- The 24 runs scored by Brandeis in the opener was their highest total scored under head coach Derek Carlson '91.
- It was the most by a Brandeis team since a 27-0 win over Norwich on March 11, 2007.
- It's only the 10th time in program history the Judges scored 24 or more runs in a contest.
TEAM STATS HIGHLIGHTS
- The Judges scored runs in 12 of their 14 plate appearances, including multiple runs nine times.
- Their big frame in Game 1 was a nine-run fifth, while the nightcap featured a five-run sixth and four runs each in the second and fourth.
- In the opener, Brandeis scored its 24 runs on 22 hits and seven walks, with eight extra-base hits – four doubles, a triple and three home runs.
- In Game 2, the 18 runs came on 10 hits and 13 walks, with four extra-base hits – two doubles, a triple and a homer.
- Every starter had a hit and scored a run in the opener, with eight of the nine Judges picking up multiple hits.
- In Game 2, every Brandeis starter scored a run and reached base by either hit or walk.
- In all, 11 different Brandeis players had at least one hit and 11 Judges scored runs.
INDIVIDUAL HITTING STARS
- The top run producer on the day was sophomore CF Connor Crowley (Guilford, Conn./Notre Dame-West Haven), who went 4-8 with six RBI and seven runs scored out of the leadoff spot. He had a double, a home run and three stolen bases.
- Crowley had three hits in the opener, with four run scored and three RBI, then had three RBI and three runs scored on just one hit, a two-run double, and a sacrifice fly in the nightcap.
- Crowley's homer was a two-run shot in the nine-run fifth of Game 1. It was the first round-tripper of his career.
- Grad student 1B Eddie Zanor (Branford, Conn./Notre Dame-West Haven) and first-year catcher Keith Lee (Milford, Mass./Milford) matched Crowley's six RBI on the day, while sophomore LF Henry Aronwald (Rye Brook, N.Y./Trinity Pawling) equaled Crowley's seven runs scored.
- Zanor, Lee and Aronwald also homered on the day. It was the second of the season for both Zanor and Lee, and the first for Aronwald. Zanor now has eight for his career, while Lee has two and Aronwald one.
- Lee's home run was a grand slam in the team's five-run fifth inning in Game 1.
- First-year 3B Ben Kuja (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) had a team-high five hits in the doubleheader, including two triples, one in each half of the doubleheader. He drove in four runs, scored four times, and had two stolen bases.
WINNING PITCHERS
- Graduate student Chris Lowe (Chatham, N.J./Oratory Prep) earned the win in the opener, going four innings and allowing four earned runs on six hits. He struck out five and did not walk a batter to earn his first win in a Brandeis jersey.
- First-year Rohan Shah (Hicksville, N.Y./Hicksville) earned his first victory by shutting down the Buccaneers. He worked five innings in game two, allowing just one run on one hit. He struck out a career-high seven and walked just one.
