Men's tennis falls to #2 CMS on West Coast, 6-1

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Brandeis University men's tennis team faced #2-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps to kick off their 2025 February break trip to California. The Judges dropped a 6-1 decision to the Stags.

TEAM RECORDS
  • Brandeis, 0-2.
  • Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, 2-2, ranked #2 in Division III by the ITA.
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • CMS swept the doubles point, winning 6-4 at #1, 6-3 at #2 and 6-1 at #3.
  • In singles action, the hosts won at #2, #4 and #6 in straight sets.
  • Brandeis took the final three matches to three sets, winning one.
  • Grad student Dylan Walters (Baltimore, Md./Gilman School) picked up the team's win at #1, coming from a set down to win, 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.
  • At #3, first-year Daniel Shemesh (Modiin, Israel/Ironi Hei Modiin) won the first set, 6-0, but dropped the second, 4-6. He was trailing 0-3 in the third when he retired from the match.
  • At #5, classmate Aidan Wang-Fan (Richmond Hill, Ont./Bill Crothers Secondary School) also took the first set, 6-4, but lost the next two, 3-6, 3-6.
