WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University sophomore Madison Haft-Abromovitch of Stratford, Connecticut, has been selected as the University Athletic Association Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending November 2. 

Haft-Abromovitch helped the Judges to a tri-match sweep on Nov. 1 with wins over Johnson and Wales University, 3-0 (25-22, 25-16, 25-19), and host Salve Regina University, 3-1 (23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22). Across the two matches, she averaged 4.43 kills per set with a .433 hitting percentage (31 kills, 5 errors, 60 total attacks).  Against JWU, Haft-Abromovitch tied for team-high honors with 13 kills with just two errors for a .440 hitting percentage, while also contributing five digs. Against SRU, she had a match- and career-high 18 kills, with just three errors in 35 attempts for a .429 hitting percentage. She also served a team-best three service aces against the Seahawks. 

For the season, Haft-Abromovitch is second on the team in kills, averaging 2.56 per set, and in total points with 284.5 (2.85 points per set). This is her first career UAA Weekly honor.

With a 12-14 record this season, the Judges have earned the seventh seed in the upcoming University Athletic Association tournament, which they will host at Red Auerbach Arena on Nov. 14 and 15. First, they will travel to New York to face William Smith and Cortland State in a bid to reach the .500 mark entering the tournament.
