WALTHAM, Mass. -- Brandeis University senior
Elias Rodl of
Berlin, Germany, has been selected as the University Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending November 23.
Rodl averaged 26.5 points per game in nearly 37 minutes per game of action in a 1-1 week for the Judges. Rodl shot 67% from the field (20-30), 73% from 3-point range (8-11) and 5-5 from the line. He also averaged 6 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game.
In an 80-76 win at Rhode Island College, he had 26 points and 6 rebounds, scoring 22 in the second half as the Judges overcame a six-point deficit. He also led the team with six boards against the Anchormen. In the last of a five-game road trip to start the season, Rodl tied a career-high with 27 points and established a new one with seven assists, but the Judges dropped an 84-78 decision at Connecticut College.
Rodl is second in the UAA in scoring average (22.6 ppg) and first in minutes per game this season (37.2 mpg), while ranking 41st and 12th in all of Division III in both categories.
The Judges, who are 2-3 on the season, play their home opener tonight, Nov. 25, against Clark University.
Rodl, a transfer from Division II St. Anselm, is a 2022 graduate of Schulund Leistungssportzentrum Berlin.
