NEWPORT, R.I. – The Brandeis University volleyball team picked up its fourth and fifth wins in their past six matches today as the Judges defeated Johnson and Wales in three sets and host Salve Regina in four set in a tri-match today.

HOW IT HAPPENED vs JOHNSON AND WALES (Set scores: 25-22, 25-16, 25-19)
- The Judges rolled past the Wildcats in straight sets with advantages on the attack (36-28 kills advantage), on the service line (5-1, service aces), and at the net (6-4, blocks).
- Brandeis outhit JWU, .226 (36 kills-12 errors-106 attacks) to .078 (28 kills-19 errors-42 attacks).
- Brandeis played a balanced match all around. Offensively, senior Anna Ertischek (Montgomery, Texas/Lake Creek) and sophomore Madison Haft-Abromovitch (Stratford, Conn./Rye Country Day School) each had 13 kills.
- Defensively, Ertischek and sophomore Isabella Irizarry (Guaynabo, P.R./Cupeyville School) both totaled 11 digs. For Ertischek, it marked her seventh double-double of the season.
- Senior Megan Margolis (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) had 14 assists in her third-straight match at setter, while Irizarry added 12 helpers.
- First-year Colette Ejang (Los Angeles, Calif./Taft Charter School) chipped in with team-highs of four blocks (two solo) and two service aces.
HOW IT HAPPENED vs SALVE REGINA (Set scores: 23-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22)
- Haft-Abromovitch had a career-match as the Judges bounced back from a first-set loss to defeat the Seahawks on their home court.
- The Judges' offense tallied a 51-33 advantage in kills, offsetting SRU's 12-9 edge in service aces and 13-4 margin in blocks. The Judges' .190 hitting percentage (51 K-20 E-163 TA) doubled up the hosts .079 (33 K-20 E-165 TA).
- Offensively, Haft-Abromovitch turned in a career-high 18 kills to lead all players She had just three errors in 35 attacks for a lofty .429 hitting percentage. She also delivered a career-high-tying three service aces to pace the Judges.
- Ertischek turned in double-double #8 on the season with 14 kills and 11 digs.
- Margolis and Irizarry each had 18 assists in the match. It was one shy of Irizarry's career-high.
- First-year Lara Demoraes (Plantation, Fla./Cypress Bay) paced the defense with 18 digs.
- Classmate Claudia Aber (Los Angeles, Calif./Taft Charter School) had two blocks.
