Team Records:
Brandeis 2-3: Nationally Ranked #26 in Division III
Claremont-Mudd-Scripps 4-0: Nationally Ranked #1 in Division III
How it went down:
The Judges had a great effort against the best team in Division III, ultimately falling 5-2.
Brandeis started off excellent against the #1 team in Division III, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, winning 2 of their first 3 doubles matches to secure the doubles point, as this match was played under Division I rules where doubles counted for one point. They did this with wins from Rebecca Suarez (Huntington, N.Y.) and Bhakti Parwani (Ahmedabad, India) 6-3, and Cecilia Denis (Ardmore, Pa.) and Chahana Budhbhatti (Ahmedabad, India).
Singles did not go as well for the Judges, losing 5 of 6 matches. However, the bright spot did come in Match #6 with Lika Bolkvadze (Tbilisi, Georgia) winning the only singles point for the Judges by a score of 6-1, 7-5.
Up Next:
Brandeis travels back home to Massachusetts to take on Franklin Pierce March 3rd at 11 am.
