Brooke Reed (Chantilly, Va./Westfield) scored a career-high 14 points, but it wasn't enough as the Judges fell at local foe MIT, 77-60, today.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- MIT led for nearly the entire game, with Brandeis's only lead coming early after graduate student Francesca Marchese (Staten Island, N.Y./Staten Island Academy) hit a 3-pointer on the Judges' first possession to make it 3-2.
- The Engineers scored the game's next eight points to go ahead, 10-3, and the hosts never looked back.
- Brandeis got within four on a trifecta by junior Lulu Ohm (Waltham, Mass./Waltham) that made it 18-14 with 1:01 left in the first, but MIT answered with a Grace Harrington and an Alice Hall free throw to give them a 21-14 lead after 10 minutes.
- MIT extended their lead to 10 at halftime, 39-29, then blew things open in the third, outscoring Brandeis, 20-11, to go ahead 59-40 with 10 minutes left in regulation. MIT shot 50 percent from the field (8-16) in the third, while holding the Judges to 22% (4-18).
- Brandeis won the fourth quarter, 20-18, but it was too little, too late.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Reed led the Judges in scoring for the second time this season, notching 14 points on 5-of-9 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line. She just missed a double-double with a team-high nine rebounds.
- Ohm was the only other Brandeis player in double digits with 10 points, hitting 4-of-10 overall and 2-of-6 from deep.
- First-year Carlie Marrella (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) dished out three assists to lead Brandeis.
- MIT was led by the duo of Angie Choi and Kamsi Nwogu, who combined for 34 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
- Choi had a game-high 18 points and four assists, while Nwogu contributed 16 points and seven boards.
- The Engineers won the turnover battle, 21-9, converting them into a 26-7 advantage in points off turnovers. They also had an 18-4 lead in second chance points thanks to 16 offensive rebounds.
